Zero Tolerance equals Zero Discretion
I've heard so much recently about problems with zero tolerance policies at schools. The stories have been good students either suspended or expelled on a first time offense. The latest story that I heard about on the news today was a boy who was expelled because of a spit-ball gun. The school stood by it's decision believing that they made the correct decision. Maybe "decision" isn't the best word, because you can hardly call it a "decision" by blindly following a policy. These are people who want someone expelled, because they consider a spit-ball gun a weapon. Would these same people have agreed with President Obama when he said that a Supreme Court Justice should have compassion. This is one of those instances that compassion should be the first thought. Whatever happened to discretion. Don't they realize that this is already impacting students. Why should they have discretion if adults - especially those in authority - don't have any, or at least don't exercise it. Bring discretion back to the public school systems...aka common sense.

Hypocrites
Woe to our politicians that criticize Arizona's immigration law. They call it racism and say that they are against racial profiling, but that is not even part of the law. Woe to our politicians who do not want people to know the truth. President Obama is a hypocrite, who calls the Arizona law racism, because the law doesn't allow for any person that is law abiding to be caught in this law. They have to be caught doing something else illegal (not just being an illegal alien), and the officer(s) would also need just cause to check on their immigration status. Last time I checked there is no law that allows racial profiling as a "just cause". President Obama is not one to talk about such matters (without having all the facts). Oh yeah, I guess there was at least one other time when he did that, where he said that the Cambridge Police acted "stupidly" after stating that he "didn't have all the facts". I always thought that it was a good idea to keep your yap shut until you "have all the facts". I guess President Obama doesn't subscibe to that rule.

Nancy Pelosi
If it wasn't evident before, the last couple of weeks of Nancy Pelosi just opening her mouth and sparking controversy by accusing the CIA of lying to Congress...she is no longer fit to serve the House of Reps as Speaker. If she had some proof to back it up, I would hope that she would share it. I don't claim to have ever supported her as speaker, but I never thought until recently that she wasn't fit to serve as Speaker.
The recurring theme among the most Liberal Democrats and Republicans is guilt by accusation. Do they really think the American public is so stupid to believe their lies. Why is it that politics and lying seem to go together like chocolate and peanut butter....it starts off nice and sweet, but it eventually makes you parched and needing a drink.
When people voted for Obama, most were crying for a real change from the politics as usual? If he was for change, why is he still supporting Pelosi who is a symbol of what's wrong with our government. This is why people are asking what happened to the change.
Those in power should not be seeking to grow and keep there own power. They should be seeking the will of "the people". Last time I checked, the preamble to the Constitution still said, "We the People"...not "We the Government".
